I am addicted to Call of Duty: World at War. Straight up addicted.
It’s Noah’s fault. I’d never played a CoD title before, and certainly never on a console. FPS’s were a computer only affair in my book. However, after hearing his CoD 4 tales repeatedly, and then witnessing him take two days off of work for the launch of this newest installment, I decided to give it a taste.
But damn if the mutliplayer component hasn’t gotten me hooked. I’d probably get over it quickly enough if it was just one random frag fest after another, but you can level shit up by gaining experience. I think if you add this feature to any game, I’ll get addicted. (See World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, etc.)
I was able to rationalize myself out of MMORPGs due to the monthly fee (add it up, you’re paying a LOT for one very repetitive game). But with no monthly fee to speak of here, I feel that I will be stuck in this WWII hell forever.
Or until the next CoD comes out.
