Microsoft – I don’t own an Xbox, so I’m really not too interested in what the Xbox peoples are doing. I see they have some kind of face recognizing camera that you can talk to. I’m not sure how that’s a video game.
Nintendo – Here’s what I wanted out of you guys:
- A new Zelda for Wii
See how easy I am to please? Instead Miyamoto gives us Super Mario Galaxy 2. Not that I have a problem with Super Mario Galaxy, but did this game really need a direct sequel? The answer is no. I want a Zelda game, for my Wii, that is not a Gamecube port and does not involve Link turning into an animal at any point. How about a story of what happened to Ocarina of Time’s boy Link after he saved Termina? What happened to Ganondorf in that timeline?
The saving grace of Nintendo’s presentation may have been the Metroid Other M announcement. But what the hell is it?
Sony – What I wanted out of you guys:
- God of War III (not until next year)
- Info on Team Ico’s new project (looks neat)
- Details on awesome exclusive stuff that taps the PS3’s full potential (MAG, maybe?)
What I didn’t need was the introduction of motion sensing controls. It was innovative on the Wii, but then we saw what it was used for. Crappy crappy casual games. If grandmothers start buying PS3’s for brain training, I am declaring consoles officially dead.
